Locked Shields, the world's largest cyberspace defense training , began in Tallinn on Tuesday, with representatives from 41 NATO member countries taking part.
The training simulate a variety of incidents that could affect the operation of telecommunications, energy, satellite communications and other key areas vital to national security. In addition, the ability to make strategic decisions under national and international emergency response procedures is tested.
Locked Shields deals with the protection of key services and critical infrastructure that are fundamental to the functioning of modern societies, such as energy networks and 5G, as well as key military infrastructure such as air defense and combat management systems.
During the training , however, participants not only have to defend themselves against relentless cyber attacks, but also deal with political pressure, disinformation campaigns and infrastructure crises.
